The 2016 Blason d'Issan is a captivating second wine from the esteemed Château d'Issan in Margaux. Crafted from the estate's younger vines, this wine showcases the unique terroir of the region. Aged for 14 to 16 months in oak barrels, one-third of which are new, it offers a harmonious blend of cassis, plums, and earthy notes, complemented by hints of bay leaves and tobacco. The palate is medium to full-bodied with firm, grainy tannins, excellent concentration, and a long, satisfying finish. A wine of balance and elegance, it is approachable now but will continue to evolve beautifully over the next decade.
