Tasting Note: Bright and intricately layered, this vintage offers aromas of jasmine, dried orange peel, fig and toasted brioche, followed by roasted walnut, subtle tobacco and an autumnal mushroom note. On the palate it shows silkily fine mousse, vibrant saline acidity and a creamy mid-palate that carries nutty, caramel-tinged flavors to a long, bittersaline finish. Producer Notes: From Champagne De Sousa, a small family producer known for single-vineyard Grand Cru bottlings drawn from top parcels such as Avize and Le Mesnil. Grapes are grown organically in chalky, Grand Cru soils and picked for concentration and freshness. Winemaking Notes: Natural fermentation in seasoned Burgundian barrels, extended ageing on the lees and careful élevage produce depth and texture. Bottled as Extra Brut and disgorged in 2023 with a low dosage (approx. 3 g/L). The result is nuanced, precise and age-worthy. Vineyard Notes: Single-vineyard Grand Cru sites with characteristic chalk subsoil, low yields and meticulous vine work deliver pronounced mineral tension and clarity. Ideal to enjoy after a short open (30 minutes) to reveal the aromatic layers.
