品飲筆記:酒色深紅帶些褐邊,黑莓與成熟紅果香明顯,伴隨礦物氣息與細緻雪松木香。口感偏乾且輪廓較為俐落,單寧略顯收斂但結構完整,餘韻中等偏長,隨時間會出現更多泥土與皮革的風味。

酒莊介紹:貝霍杜夫(Duffau-Lagarrosse)位於聖艾美濃的名坡上,為列級莊園,注重地塊分級與傳統工法。葡萄園面積不大,追求低產與精選,只採最高成熟度的果實進入頂級酒款。

釀造與熟成:採人工採收並在酒窖以每桶微調的發酵方式處理,釀造時針對不同小槽採用細緻管理。酒款在橡木桶中熟成約一年(Merrain oak),賦予些許香料與雪松感,但保留礦物與果味的清晰度。

田間風土:葡萄園坐落在典型聖艾美濃的石灰質與黏土交錯地帶,排水良好,日夜溫差有助於酸度與風味的保留。產量受控,重視手工管理,讓每一口都能感受小地塊的性格。

Tasting note: Deep ruby in the glass, this 1996 offering shows attractive black raspberry and dark-cherry aromas edged with mineral and cedary oak. On the palate it is drier and a touch more angular than early barrel impressions suggested — medium-plus in body with pronounced, somewhat astringent tannins and a moderately long finish. Expect savory, earthy notes to come forward with air.

Producer notes: From Château Beauséjour (Duffau-Lagarrosse), a Premier Grand Cru Classé B estate on Saint-Emilion’s storied hillsides. Fruit for the grand vin is hand-harvested with rigorous selection; the team tailor vinification to each vat to respect the tiny parcels that make up the final blend.

Winemaking notes: Vinification is adjusted vat-by-vat to coax the best from each lot. The wine received approximately one year of maturation in merrain oak barrels, contributing cedar and subtle toast without overwhelming the vintage’s mineral character.

Vineyard notes: From small, carefully tended parcels on classic Saint-Emilion soils — well-draining, limestone-tinged slopes that favour concentration and mineral lift. Yields are controlled and selection in the vineyard and cellar aims to capture site expression rather than heavy extraction.

Cellar advice: Older vintage showing signs of drying tannin; decant gently for about 45 minutes to open aromatics and soften edges, and serve at 16–18°C. Best enjoyed with hearty, savory dishes that balance firm tannins.
