2018 Chateau Belgrave

This 2018 Chateau Belgrave from Haut-Medoc, France is a rich, well-balanced wine with classic black-currant flavors. The tannins play a major supporting part, giving the wine a succulent texture and ripe fruits. The wine is deeply concentrated, almost black in appearance at this stage. The complex bouquet interweaves the aromatic intensity of black berry fruits redolent of cassis and fresh blackberries, with camphor, menthol notes. The wine’s fruit-laden core, lifted by hints of mint, and its impressive structure strike a perfect balance, and accompany the long, supremely elegant finish. It is distinguished by its ageing capacity, its aromatic complexity and its very Saint-Julien character.
