Tasting note
Tasting Note: Aromas of cedar, tobacco and fragrant dark-red fruit—blackberry and cassis—lead into a medium–full, elegantly styled palate. The texture is soft and silky with polished tannins, a fresh core and a spicy, cassis-tinged finish.
Producer Notes: This is the Château’s signature Grand Cru, the product of multi-generational attention to terroir and a consistent house style that emphasises refinement and balance.
Winemaking Notes: Parcels are harvested by hand and sorted. Each parcel is fermented separately in tanks of varying sizes to respect individual expression; maceration can last up to three weeks. The wine matures in French oak for at least 18 months, with about 60% of barrels renewed annually.
Vineyard Notes: Located in Saint-Julien, the estate benefits from classic Médoc gravelly soils and meticulous viticulture. Yields are controlled, fruit is hand-selected and the harvest is focused on optimal ripeness to deliver a poised, age-worthy expression.
Cellar Advice: Bottled at the Château with cork closure. Best enjoyed after gentle decanting to integrate aromas and lift any sediment. Drinking window historically cited through the late 2020s.
