2021 Chateau de la Maltroye Chassagne Montrachet 1er Cru La Boudriotte Rouge

A poised Premier Cru from La Boudriotte, the 2021 showing classic Côte de Beaune tension and refinement. Aromas of ripe red cherry and wild strawberry lead into savory layers of forest floor and mushroom, with a touch of warm spice and discreet oak. On the palate it is medium-bodied with lively acidity, silky but present tannins and a mineral-tinged finish that lingers comfortably. Producer notes emphasize low-yield viticulture and careful sorting, with gentle extraction in cellar and maturation in seasoned French oak to preserve terroir expression. Serve lightly chilled after a short decant to open up the aromatic spectrum — ideal alongside roasted duck, game birds or mushroom-forward dishes.
