Crafted during an extraordinarily warm summer, this exceptional release represents a triumphant milestone under the visionary stewardship of Bruno Borie. Nestled right against the moderating tides of the Gironde estuary, the estate's famous gunzian gravel soils buffered the intense heat, allowing the fruit to achieve majestic ripeness without losing freshness. Rigorous selection capped yields at merely 35 hectoliters per hectare, yielding less than 10,000 cases of pure artisanal brilliance. In the glass, it reveals an opulent garnet hue, opening with a seductive bouquet of blackcurrant preserves, licorice, cigar box, and sandalwood. The palate is expansive, lavish, and layered, supported by seamless, melted tannins and a cocoa-dusted, spicy finish that lingers effortlessly. A tour de force of balance and sheer indulgence, this Saint-Julien powerhouse is currently drinking at its glorious plateau.
