The 1998 Chateau Latour is a beautifully balanced wine from the prestigious Pauillac region in France. This Grand Vin is crafted exclusively from old vines, averaging 60 years old, from the heart of the Enclos. The wine presents a medium to deep, dark ruby-red color. The nose is currently restrained but reveals an attractive combination of jammy blackcurrant, black-cherry, and vanilla aromas. On the palate, it offers lovely freshness and a medium body, with plentiful cassis and cedary oak well-married on the mid-palate. The smooth, supple tannins and superbly lasting finish make this wine a true classic. Ideal for pairing with grilled lamb chops, Beef Wellington, roasted duck, or aged cheeses.
