2004 Chateau Leoville Poyferre

The 2004 Chateau Leoville Poyferre, a classic gem from Saint-Julien, exudes a deep, dark ruby-red allure. Its bouquet is initially reserved, hinting at black fruits and cedar, with a promise of complexity beneath its tight structure. On the palate, the wine reveals a tapestry of blackberry, raspberry, and strawberry, woven with floral notes of violet and lilac, and a subtle earthiness. The tannins are precise and mellow, contributing to a wine that is both elegant and robust. With a hint of salinity on the finish, this wine is a testament to the meticulous care in winemaking and vineyard management, making it a perfect companion to hearty dishes and a candidate for further cellaring.
