Tasting note
Tasting note: Concentrated and Pauillac-typical, this 2023 delivers deep black-fruit aromas—blackberry and black cherry—layered with violet and dried herb notes, graphite and crushed-stone minerality. The palate is dense and firmly structured: racy acidity frames ripe fruit, with chewy, tightly-knit tannins and impressive length. Producer notes: From a fifth-growth estate long owned by Famille JM Cazes, the wine comes from gravelly Garonne soils and carries the château's classic concentration and aging potential. Winemaking notes: Hand-harvested and sorted at the vineyard; vinified using gravity-assisted, thermoregulated stainless-steel vats and matured for 18 months in French oak, producing a polished yet powerful profile. Vineyard notes: Parcels sit on classic Pauillac gravel with good drainage and exposure, contributing the wine’s mineral drive and structural backbone. Serve slightly chilled from decanting, and allow time to open; best enjoyed with grilled or roasted red meats, game, and mature hard cheeses. Drinking window: 2028–2055.
