Tasting note

Tasting note: Deep ruby with a clear core; the nose opens to black cherry and dark berry fruit, edged by licorice, espresso and discreet cedar. On the palate it is medium–full, rounded and juicy, showing polished, fine-grained tannins and a dark cocoa / tobacco thread through a long, mineral-tinged finish. Producer & winemaking: From a third-growth Margaux estate noted for elegant, perfume-driven wines. Fermentation is carried out in concrete vats, and the wine is matured for 12 months (60% in barrels, 40% in amphorae) to preserve freshness while adding subtle complexity. Vineyard notes: Sited in Margaux’s classic gravel soils with maritime influence, the fruit expresses purity and mid-palate generosity typical of the appellation. Serve slightly cool after decanting for 60–90 minutes. Pair with grilled or roasted red meats, venison or aged cheeses.

Winery

Château Malescot St-Exupéry is a historic Margaux estate classified as a 3ème Grand Cru Classé in 1855. The domaine balances traditional Bordeaux craftsmanship with thoughtful modern cellar work. Focused on elegance and aromatic purity, the team uses concrete fermentation and a combination of barrels and amphorae for ageing to retain freshness and add textural complexity.
