酒莊與田地:波坦薩座落於北梅多克相對較高的丘陵上,土壤以石灰岩覆蓋黏土與大量礫石為主,與聖艾斯泰夫相近的風土賦予礫石感與礦物質輪廓。由德隆家族(Les Domaines Delon)經營,田間有超過七十年的老藤,能帶來濃縮與複雜性。
釀造與陳年:2004年於10月4日至19日採收,酒液經橡木桶陳年,採取穩健的萃取以保留結構與優雅,橡木的使用為酒體增添香草與微妙的香料調性而非掩蓋果味。

Tasting note: Deep garnet with age-tinged edges, this Médoc bottling opens to a bouquet of ripe black fruits—blackcurrant and plum—woven with cedar, tobacco leaf and a hint of graphite. The palate is structured and savory: concentrated fruit framed by firm, polished tannins, a streak of gravelly minerality and balanced acidity that keeps the wine lively. Oak influence is present but integrated, providing notes of vanilla and spice rather than dominance.
Producer notes: Château Potensac, managed by the Delon family (owners of Léoville Las Cases), sits high in the northern Médoc. The estate tends plots with very old vines and a tradition of classic, terroir-driven wines that combine density with precision.
Winemaking notes: Harvested between 4 and 19 October 2004, the fruit was matured in oak, resulting in a wine that shows both Mediterranean warmth from the season and the freshness preserved by cool nights. Fermentation and élevage focused on balance—careful extraction to retain structure without harshness, and oak ageing that refines tannins.
Vineyard notes: Planted on limestone with clay and a high proportion of gravel, the vineyards occupy one of the highest points in the northern Médoc. Old vine parcels (some over 75 years) contribute depth and concentration, while the stony soils lend classic Médoc minerality.
Cellar advice & pairings: At this stage the wine benefits from a short decant (about 45 minutes) to open up aromas and soften edges. Serve at 16–18°C alongside grilled ribeye, roasted lamb, game or mature sheep's cheese.

Château Potensac is a classic Médoc estate situated on one of the higher sites in the northern Médoc. Managed by the Delon family, the property includes old-vine plots and a limestone-clay-gravel terroir that yields wines noted for structure, minerality and classic Bordeaux character. The estate focuses on traditional methods with careful oak ageing to refine tannins and add complexity.
