Crafted from prime parcels in the high-elevation Adelaida District of Paso Robles, the 2022 Daou Vineyards Reserve Chardonnay represents mountain viticulture at its finest. Georges and Daniel Daou have harnessed the rare limestone-rich slopes and cool nocturnal breezes of Central Coast to create an intensely textured yet brightly focused masterpiece. Fermented and matured for 11 months in 50% new French oak, it pours a glowing golden-straw. The bouquet opens effortlessly with jasmine, honeysuckle, grilled pineapple, and ripe white peach, seamlessly underlined by toasted brioche, caramel, and salted butter. On the palate, expect a luxurious, viscous mouthfeel packed with lemon tart, roasted hazelnuts, and Tahitian vanilla, counterbalanced by a streak of mineral precision and mouthwatering acidity that extends into a lingering, saline-kissed finish.
