Tasting note
Tasting note: Pale lemon hue with a luminous bead and an elegant, finely textured mousse. Aromas of toasted brioche, almond biscotti, pastry cream and crystallized honey are threaded with lemon zest, green apple and a chalky mineral thread. On the palate it is silky and creamy yet tightly wound by bright, chiselled acidity; saline and smoky-toasty notes linger through a long, precise finish. Producer notes: From Champagne Ruinart’s 2010 vintage, this blanc de blancs is made exclusively from Grand Cru parcels (75% Côte des Blancs; 25% northern Montagne de Reims). Winemaking notes: Hand-harvested fruit, fermentation in temperature‑controlled stainless steel, full malolactic fermentation and extended ageing on the lees; low dosage (around 4–4.5 g/L) for freshness and clarity. Vineyard notes: Grapes sourced from top Grand Cru villages including Chouilly, Le Mesnil, Oger, Avize, Sillery and Verzenay, giving a balance of orchard fruit, floral lift and saline minerality. Drink now to 2040; decant gently for about 30 minutes to let the aromatics open.
