Description
The 2011 Richebourg Grand Cru has fine transparency on the nose, more “stony” than fruit-driven, well-defined with scents of terracotta and wet clay emerging with time. The palate is medium-bodied with a gentle grip on the entry. The tannins are quite fine once again, nicely balanced with an unprepossessing finish that leaves a dash of white pepper in the mouth. Fine, but perhaps not a long-term Richebourg. Drink 2014-2020.

Tasting note
The 2021 Domaine Anne Gros Richebourg Grand Cru is a wine of extraordinary elegance and complexity. Its deep purple hue reflects the purity of Pinot Noir, while the bouquet offers an intricate array of aromas. Floral notes of peony, roses, and violets intertwine with spicy hints of licorice, vanilla, and coriander. The fruit profile is rich with raspberry and black currant, complemented by vegetal nuances of undergrowth and fresh-cut herbs. Exotic touches of leather and musk, along with caramel and chocolate, add depth to this already multifaceted wine. With age, it evolves to reveal earthy and wild characteristics, making it a truly sensual and complex experience. The wine is aged for approximately 16 months in French oak barrels, with 80% new oak, enhancing its structure and depth. Perfectly paired with duck confit, beef Wellington, mushroom risotto, or aged cheeses, this wine promises a memorable tasting journey.
