The 2020 Domaine Anne Gros Vosne-Romanee Les Barreaux is a testament to the unique terroir of its high-altitude vineyards. With a strong personality and a deep color linked to the iron-rich dark soil, this wine offers a complex bouquet of wild blackberry, blueberry, and a peppery spice. The palate is a harmonious blend of freshness, due to its northern exposure, and ripe fruit character. Its mineral backbone and elegant structure suggest an excellent potential for ageing. This wine is both austere and sappy, with a wild streak that promises to mellow with time. Decanting for an hour is recommended to allow the wine to fully express its depth and nuances.
