2020 Domaine Maltroye Chassagne Montrachet 1er Cru 'Clos du Chateau' Blanc Monopole

A Premier Cru white that balances precision and plushness — Montrachet-adjacent power with refined limestone minerality.

【Why choose it?】
1) Single-monopole pedigree -> guaranteed site identity and rarity, a clear terroir signature.
2) Traditional élevage with careful oak -> supple texture without losing freshness, immediate drinkability with aging potential.
3) Premier Cru from Chassagne-Montrachet -> premium complexity at a fraction of grand cru prices.

【Sommelier's Private Note】Lifted citrus and white-flower aromatics open first, then orchard fruit and toasted almond unfold. Mid-palate is creamy, edged by bright, saline minerality and a cedar-spice lift from subtle oak. Elegant weight — you feel structure, not heaviness. Best after a short decant to let brioche and hazelnut lines emerge.

【Winemaking & Vineyard】Clos du Chateau de la Maltroye is a monopole site tended with low yields and meticulous sorting. Fermentation in oak barrels (partial new) and moderate élevage bring a fine-grained texture and savoury complexity. Soils: classic Burgundian limestone and clay; aspect gives ripe phenolics with vibrant acidity.

【Occasion & Pairing】Perfect for celebratory dinners, seafood-centric tasting menus, or a refined Sunday roast in Hong Kong — pairs brilliantly with lobster, scallops, mushroom dishes and creamy cheeses.

【Competitive Edge】Gives you Premier Cru terroir definition and age-worthy structure without the grand cru price tag — a collector-friendly bottle that also performs beautifully now with short decanting.
