This Les Boudots Premier Cru offers an immediate, elegant bouquet of red cherry, wild raspberry and a floral lift, layered with forest-floor and gentle spice. On the palate it shows silky texture and fine-grained tannins balanced by bright, nervy acidity and a clear mineral thread. The wine reveals savory mid-palate notes—dried herbs, a hint of iron—and a persistent, spice-tinged finish. Domaine Mongeard-Mugneret crafts terroir-focused wines from carefully tended parcels in Nuits-Saint-Georges; small-lot vinification, meticulous sorting and attentive élevage in French oak produce a wine with precision and aging potential. Vineyard sites on the Les Boudots slope give clay-limestone minerality and concentrated fruit; this young 2023 will reward a short decant to open up and is a fine match for roast duck, game birds and hearty, herb-driven dishes.
