The 2021 Domaine Mongeard-Mugneret Richebourg Grand Cru is a testament to the art of Burgundian winemaking. With a color that ranges from velvety ruby to a deep, nocturnal red, this wine's visual appeal is as intense as its flavors. On the nose, it presents a complex bouquet of musk, Russian leather, and sandalwood, evolving into scents of hawthorn and peachblossom as it matures. The palate is greeted with an explosion of life, showcasing a rich tapestry of cherries, blackcurrants, and both cooked and preserved fruits. This wine, aged in 100% new oak barrels, is a vibrant and powerful expression that will continue to unfold and mellow with age. Decanting for two hours is recommended to allow its full spectrum of aromas and flavors to emerge. Pair it with dishes like roasted lamb or duck breast with berry sauce to complement its savory and classic profile.
