The 2002 Maison Nicolas Potel Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru is a testament to the classic and savory profile of Burgundy's esteemed terroir. With a nose that boasts big, rounded, and very sweet fruit, complemented by a subtle oak backdrop, this wine promises a depth of flavor that is both concentrated and sinewy. On the palate, it reveals an immense concentration of red fruits, with deep and sinewy layers that gracefully transition to elegant, lighter cherry nuances. The power and length of this wine are truly remarkable, making it a splendid choice for those seeking a wine with both intensity and finesse. Decanting for an hour is recommended to fully appreciate its complexity. Pair it with roasted lamb, duck breast with a berry sauce, a creamy mushroom risotto, or savor it alongside aged hard cheeses.
