2023 Domaine Pierre Vincent Auxey Duresses Les Closeaux Rouge

Bright, elegant and classically Burgundian, this 2023 Les Closeaux shows lifted red fruits—cherry, raspberry and a hint of wild strawberry—framed by sous-bois and savoury undergrowth. The palate is lithe with lively acidity, silky tannins and a mineral streak that carries an aromatic, gently spiced finish. Domaine Pierre Vincent works with small, well-sited parcels in Auxey-Duresses to let site character speak: grapes are hand-harvested and vinified with careful, gentle extraction to preserve freshness. Aging in French oak (limited new oak) and attentive élevage round the texture without masking the village’s chalky, clay-tinged terroir. Drink now with gentle decanting or cellar for a few years to gain extra complexity.

Winery

Domaine Pierre Vincent is a small family domaine in Auxey-Duresses focused on expressing local terroir. Working with carefully managed, low-yield parcels, the team favours hand-harvesting and gentle cellar techniques to preserve freshness and varietal perfume. Wines are typically matured in French oak with conservative new-oak use so the site’s mineral and clay-limestone character remains front and centre.
