2009 Domaine Sylvain Cathiard Vosne Romanee

Tasting note: Elegant mid-weight red with bright red cherry and raspberry fruit, touches of dried rose petal, forest-floor earth and soft spice. The palate shows silky, well-integrated tannins, lively acidity and a long, savory finish. Producer notes: From the estate of Sylvain Cathiard in Vosne-Romane9e, this bottling reflects a focus on terroir expression and precise, low-yield viticulture. Winemaking notes: Fermented in small lots with gentle extraction and matured in French oak for around a year to a year and a half, allowing the fruit to remain front and center while gaining subtle oak complexity. Vineyard notes: Vineyards lie on classic Vosne slopes with limestone-clay soils and careful canopy work; older vines and modest yields contribute to concentration and finesse.
