Glendronach 'Ode to the Embers' Sherry & Smoke Single Malt

Soul Hook: A smoky love letter from sherry-seasoned oak — bold, layered and unapologetic.

Why choose it?
- Sherry-cask maturation -> Deep dried-fruit sweetness and rounded caramel notes that elevate every sip.
- Peated character balanced with sherry -> Smokiness without harshness, ideal for whisky fans who want complexity.
- Distillery craft -> Small-batch care and traditional Spanish oak influence for a distinctive signature.

Sommelier's Note: Ode to the Embers opens with roasted raisins, dark chocolate and a whisper of orange peel. The mid-palate brings warm baking spice, leather and espresso; smoke threads throughout but never overwhelms. Texturally full-bodied, it coats the palate with rich toffee and oak tannin, finishing long and warming.

Occasion: Perfect for après-dinner moments or as the centrepiece of a Cantonese roast night—pair with roast goose or a plate of mature cheeses. Serve in a tulip glass, let rest ~15 minutes, enjoy neat or with a drop of water to reveal honeyed layers.

Competitive Edge: Offers sherry-drenched intensity and balanced peat at a price point below many boutique Islays — a focused, collectible expression from a respected Highland house.
