This 21-year-old Glenfiddich Gran Reserva is matured in traditional oak casks before a special finish in carefully selected Caribbean rum casks. The nose opens with rich honeyed orchard fruits, baked apple and warm vanilla, followed by tropical hints and orange zest from the rum casks. On the palate it's silky and layered — toffee, pecan and creamy caramel lead into cocoa, leather and a whisper of baking spices. The rum cask influence adds marmalade and a gentle molasses sweetness while soft oak and dry spice carry through a long, warming finish. Crafted by Glenfiddich's Speyside distillers, it's a sophisticated dram meant to be savoured neat or with a large ice cube; allow it 10 minutes in the glass to open up.
