Tasting note: Deep ruby in the glass with an aromatic lift of late-picked dark berries, cassis and blueberry, interwoven with dark chocolate, clove, black pepper and cedar. On the palate it is powerful and structured — dense black-fruit core, firm but refined tannins and a textured, layered mid-palate that leads to a long, persistent finish.

Producer notes: From a well-regarded Napa Valley house known for ageworthy, oak-matured reds. The 2021 release shows their hallmark concentration and careful élevage, balancing ripe fruit with measured oak and spice.

Winemaking notes: Matured in oak (oaked style) to add depth and spice while retaining core fruit intensity. Traditional fermentation and extended maceration produce full extraction and fine-grained tannins; the wine benefits from cellaring or a good decant to open up.

Vineyard notes: Sourced from Napa Valley sites with warm daytime ripeness and cool nighttime breezes, promoting concentrated flavors and balanced natural acidity. Soils are well-drained and exposed, allowing even ripening across the growing season.
