The 2022 Lagavulin Natural Cask Strength 12 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a highly anticipated release from Islay, Scotland. This expression is known for its intense peatiness and robust flavors, typical of Islay whiskies. Bottled at a cask strength of 57.3% ABV, it offers a powerful and flavorful experience. The nose reveals mild overall aromas with light prickle, ashy top notes, and hints of linseed oil. Gradually, fruity notes of hard candy and a fresh sea air scent emerge. The palate is soft and smooth in texture with a big taste that is sweeter than expected, smoky, and slightly salty. The finish is long and very smoky, with a lightly drying and appetizing salty aftertaste.
