The 2020 M. Chapoutier Saint-Joseph 'Les Granits' is a testament to the art of winemaking. With a very deep garnet red appearance, this wine offers a nose of black fruit jam, smoked and mineral overtones. On the palate, it reveals smoky and peppered aromas, tight tannins, and a long persistency. The winemaking process includes 100% destemmed grapes, slow fermentation in small concrete vats, and aging entirely in casks for 16 to 18 months. This wine, hailing from the stony granitic soils of the Saint Joseph appellation, is a bold and structured red that can be enjoyed now or cellared for decades.
