Tasting note
Tasting note: Bright, focused aromas of black cherry, dark plum and ripe red berry lead into earthier notes of damp forest, mushroom and a hint of leather and spice. On the palate the wine shows concentrated fruit framed by silky yet firm tannins, lively acidity and a medium-plus body. The finish is persistent, edged with savoury complexity and gentle oak spice. Producer notes: Maison Joliet crafts expressive village Pommard from selected parcels, aiming to balance fruit purity with the village’s classic savoury character. Wines are made in a traditional Burgundian style, reflecting the minerality and structure typical of Pommard. Winemaking notes: Hand-harvested fruit is handled with care to manage extraction—gentle punchdowns and careful maceration keep tannins refined. Malolactic fermentation is completed and the wine spends roughly a year in French oak barrels, with judicious use of new wood to add structure without overwhelming the terroir. Vineyard notes: Vineyards sit on the clay-limestone slopes of Pommard, where cool nights and warm days promote good phenolic ripeness while preserving freshness. Low yields and attentive canopy work encourage concentrated, site-expressive fruit.
