Sommelier’s Notes: On the nose: stewed orchard fruit, sticky toffee, vanilla pod and old oak. The palate is muscular — rich dried fruit, dark chocolate, leather and a savoury, almost beefy core framed by orange peel and black pepper. Cask strength gives weight and an oily mouthfeel; a few drops of water open citrus and floral edges. Finish is long, warm and slightly tannic with lingering spice.
