The 1988 Opus One is a testament to the vision of Baron Philippe de Rothschild and Robert Mondavi. This vintage offers an exceptionally intense yet elegant profile, filled with rich berry fruit, cassis, and spice. The soft tannins make it delightful to enjoy now, while its firm, balanced structure promises continued development in the bottle for decades. The wine is crafted from meticulously hand-harvested grapes from the esteemed To Kalon Vineyard and other estate parcels, aged for 18 months in new French oak barrels. Together, our founders set out to create a single wine dedicated to the pursuit of uncompromising quality. This singular mission shapes every vintage, today and for generations to come.
