This Royal Brackla 18 Year Old finishes in Palo Cortado sherry casks, offering a refined interplay between Highland malt character and sherry-derived nuttiness. On the nose: warm dried fruits—figs and sultana—caramel, orange peel, toasted oak and a hint of dark chocolate. The palate is generous and silky: toffee and marzipan give way to concentrated orchard fruit, candied citrus and a savory, nutty palo cortado note. Gentle baking spices and a whisper of leather and oak tannin build into a long, warming finish of spiced oak, dried fruit and toasted almond. Produced by Royal Brackla, a historic Highland distillery famed for elegant, mellow malts, this bottling showcases careful long maturation followed by a Palo Cortado sherry cask finish to add complexity without overpowering the spirit.
