2020 William Fevre Cabernet Sauvignon Espino Reserva Especial
Tasting Note: Deep garnet in the glass, this wine opens with an expansive, velvety texture and warm, well-ripened red and black fruit aromas. Notes of dark cherry, plum and subtle spicy cedar weave through a concentrated palate that feels both generous and structured. The tannins are present but rounded, giving a smooth mouthfeel and a satisfying, lingering finish.
Producer & Vineyard: From the clay soils of San Luis de Pirque—around 650 metres in Alto Maipo—this bottling reflects the altitude and stony, clay-rich terroir that bring ripeness and depth without brute force. The wine channels a sense of place: sun-warmed fruit framed by mineral undertones and lifted by cool-night freshness.
Winemaking Notes: Crafted with an emphasis on balance, the fruit is handled to preserve purity and texture; careful extraction yields a plush mid-palate while maturation in oak rounds the edges and integrates structure. The result is a warm, winter-friendly red built for hearty food and slow sipping.
Serving Suggestion: Best decanted for about 45 minutes to let aromas open and tannins soften. Serve slightly below room temperature. Pairs beautifully with grilled and roasted red meats, stews, game and mature cheeses.
