A majestic, well-aged Armagnac from Delord’s 1967 vintage. Deep amber to mahogany in the glass, the nose unfolds layers of dried figs, prune, candied orange peel, and toasted almonds, threaded with vanilla, warm toffee and gentle tobacco. On the palate it is richly textured yet refined—silky caramel and nougat notes mingle with baking spice, leather and a hint of dark chocolate. The oak is present but integrated, giving structure without overpowering the delicate, vinous traces of the original distillate. Exceptionally long, contemplative finish. Producer notes: Delord’s story goes back to 1893 when Prosper Delord travelled with his alambic from farm to farm. This vintage benefits from the house’s small-scale, careful approach: harvested and pressed parcel-by-parcel, controlled settling and fermentation aiming for aromatic, slightly acidic, low-alcohol wine ideal for distillation. Distillation occurs in winter and the house uses both continuous (Armagnac) and double distillation methods. Winemaking & ageing: After distillation the eaux-de-vie matured in Delord’s cellars—over a thousand barrels and a dozen oak tanks—some of the oldest vintages kept in glass bonbonnes in a room known as Paradise. The 1967 shows elegant oak maturation, long integration and the concentrated complexity that only long cellar ageing can produce. Vineyard: The family’s 45 hectares around Lannepax are divided into 11 parcels and tended year-round by the vineyard manager Rinaldo, whose attentive work helps produce the balanced base wines required for great Armagnac.

Armagnac Delord is a family house founded on itinerant distilling traditions dating back to 1893. Based in Lannepax, the estate combines small-scale vineyard work, careful cellar practices and both continuous and double distillation methods. Their cellars—more than 1,000 barrels plus tanks and glass bonbonnes—allow very long, patient maturation and the preservation of vintages that reveal depth and elegance over decades.
