Tasting Note: Deep ruby with a violet rim, this Rutherford red opens with layered dark fruits—blackberry and black cherry—then moves into savory notes of truffle, fennel and cocoa. Toasted vanilla, cedary spice and hints of licorice emerge through a long, generous finish. The palate is firmly structured yet polished, with fine, round tannins and a lively backbone of acidity. Winemaker & Production: Fruit was hand‑harvested from estate blocks during early September to early October and placed in small fermenters for a 21‑day maceration. The wine matured for 18 months in 100% French oak, half of it new, giving the wine measured spice and creamy oak lift while preserving freshness. Vineyard & Vintage: Fruit comes from several estate parcels including Chateau, Cohn, Creek, Gate, Gio, La Lomita, Lower Cask, Red Barn and Walnut. A wet winter and spring in 2017 provided abundant soil moisture for even budbreak and set; the organically farmed pockets contributed balanced acidity and bright aromatics to the final blend.
