Tasting note

品飲筆記：深沉的山嶺果香，黑莓與黑醋栗的濃郁果實感先跳出來，接著是潮濕林地泥土、石墨與一抹松葉氣息。口感飽滿，果實濃縮但不厚重，單寧紮實卻已融合，餘韻悠長帶微微香草與雪松木調。 酒莊與田地：前哨酒莊坐落於 Howell Mountain，海拔較高、土壤排水佳且礦物感明顯，夜間涼爽讓果實熟成得更均衡。酒莊採低產量、人工採收，重視田間管理以取得集中且有陳年潛力的葡萄。 釀造方式：分小批發酵，溫控掌握果香與結構，之後在法國橡木桶中陳放接近兩年（部分新桶），透過溫和的浸皮與延長浸漬提取細緻單寧。裝瓶前以輕微過濾處理，保留風味的純粹度與層次。 飲用建議：剛開瓶可醒酒一小時左右，或與燒烤牛排、燉羊肉、野味料理搭配，能把酒的香氣與口感發揮到最好。

Tasting Note: Deep, mountain-concentrated aromas of blackcurrant and crushed dark berries lead into forest-floor earth, graphite and a hint of pine needle. On the palate it's full-bodied and polished — dense fruit framed by cedar and licorice, firm but integrated tannins, and a long, savory finish. Producer Notes: From Outpost Wines on Howell Mountain, this bottling reflects the estate’s focus on mountain fruit and precise, small-lot winemaking. Part of the AXA Millésimes portfolio, Outpost crafts wines that emphasize site character and aging potential. Winemaking Notes: Fruit is handled in small lots with careful extraction to preserve freshness and structure. Fermentation in temperature-controlled tanks is followed by extended maturation in French oak (a proportion new) for about 18–20 months, producing concentrated flavors while keeping the tannins refined. Light filtration is applied prior to bottling. Vineyard Notes: Sourced from higher-elevation Howell Mountain sites with well-draining, volcanic-influenced soils, cool nights and long hang-time create thick skins and intense phenolics. Low yields and hand-harvested fruit contribute to the wine’s depth and age-worthiness.
