Tasting Note: The 2007 vintage offers a concentrated, polished profile — aromas of cassis, blackberry and dried currant give way to layers of cola, nutmeg, dark chocolate and forest floor. On the palate it is full-bodied and intense yet balanced, with supple but sinewy tannins and a seamless mid‑palate that carries through to a long, mineral-tinged finish. Producer Notes: Opus One is the joint creation of Baron Philippe de Rothschild and Robert Mondavi, founded to pursue uncompromising quality. The estate maintains a long-term vision focused on elegance, precision and cellar ageability. Winemaking Notes: Fermentation included approximately 20 days of skin contact. The wine was matured for 19 months in new French oak barrels, with meticulous barrel selection to refine texture and aromatic definition. Vineyard Notes: Fruit is sourced from four estate parcels in the western Oakville AVA, including holdings within the celebrated To Kalon Vineyard plus the Ballestra and River parcels surrounding the winery. Hand-harvesting is used where it benefits quality, and modern viticultural practices are integrated thoughtfully to support concentration and balance.
