Sommelier's Notes: On the palate this 2014 opens with black and red currant layered with cedar, licorice and forest-floor hints. Firm, finely grained tannins frame bright acidity; mid-palate density moves into a long, focused finish with savory balsam and a subtle mushroom note. It sits in the medium–full weight class but keeps tension and youthful grip — elegant rather than ostentatious.

Winemaking & Vineyard: Parcel-by-parcel vinification in stainless steel with gravity filling, pumping-over and punching down. Malolactic partly in tanks and barrels; 18 months ageing with a mix of oak and amphora influence. Vineyard sits on limestone plateau and clay-limestone slopes; integrated farming, leaf removal, green harvest and hand picking ensure ripe, healthy fruit.

Château La Gaffelière is a long-established Saint-Emilion estate, classified among the top growths and owned by the Malet-Roquefort family. The estate farms roughly 22 hectares on limestone plateaus and clay-limestone slopes. Practices include hand harvesting, optical sorting, parcel vinification, gravity filling, and a mix of tank and barrel malolactic fermentation. Wines are aged about 18 months, with both oak and amphora influences to refine tannins and enhance texture.
