品飲筆記:一入口便是厚重卻優雅的煙燻感,與蜜汁般的果甜相互拉扯——蜜瓜、白桃、金銀花的果香明亮而誘人,椰香與橡木香增添奶油與香草的口感。酒體飽滿、香料與桶烤痕跡一起在舌面舞動,尾韻長且帶一抹苦甜巧克力與煙燻餘溫。
生產重點:使用高酚值大麥(129.7 PPM),先於艾雷島邊的海畔倉庫在美國橡木桶熟成三年半,接著轉入頂級蘇特恩甜酒桶再陳18個月,讓果香與蜜甜被放大而不掩蓋煙燻個性。
釀造與桶陳:Bruichladdich 一向重視產地與原料,Octomore 系列則以極高泥煤度聞名。蒸餾後的基酒在不同桶型間細心切換,Sauternes 桶帶來的甜感與美國桶的香草、烘烤痕跡互相平衡,造就濃郁但不失細緻的口感結構。
田地與風土:這不是葡萄酒,而是來自蘇格蘭大麥與艾雷島海洋氣候的作品——海鹽微感、泥煤與大麥香氣交織,像是從海邊倉庫裡取出的濃縮風景。建議靜置十多分鐘再啜飲,或滴入幾滴水以展現更多層次。


Tasting Note: Explosive and elegant, this Octomore 12.2 opens with classic super‑heavily peated smoke framed by bright, Sauternes‑driven fruit — ripe melon, white peach and honeysuckle — with layers of coconut and vanilla from the oak. The palate is broad and spicy: barrel char, dark chocolate and cooked berries weave with honeyed sweetness before a long, smoked‑fruit finish.
Producer Notes: Made from heavily phenolic barley (129.7 PPM), the spirit spent three and a half years in ex‑American oak casks in lochside warehouses before being recasked for 18 months in impeccable Sauternes casks to amplify fruit and sweetness.
Production & Cask Regime: Distilled at Bruichladdich on Islay, Octomore is renowned for pushing peat levels while respecting provenance. Careful maturation in quality American oak followed by Sauternes finishing adds extra residual sweetness and luscious stone‑fruit character to the phenolic core.
Vines/Fields & Terroir: Sourced from Scottish barley rather than grapes, the grain and the maritime Islay environment—salt air, peat soils and lochside warehouses—imprint a coastal minerality and saline edge that balance the Sauternes sweetness. This is a bold, textural whisky that remains surprisingly refined and floral amid its smoke.
