This Paso Robles red from DAOU delivers the ripe, powerful profile the label promises while remaining balanced by savory, charred notes. On the nose you'll find dense aromas of tar, char, asphalt, cassis and cocoa. The palate is rich and creamy with pronounced coffee-bean and coconut-husk accents alongside baked fruit and oak spice from 10 months' ageing (50% new French oak). At 14.9% ABV this is full-bodied and concentrated — best enjoyed after a short decant to let the savory layers unwind.
