This is a 60‑year aged expression from a legendary Luzhou distillery, bottled at a robust 52% ABV (500 ml). The nose is powerful and multi-layered: caramel and dried orchard fruit sit alongside toasted sesame, light tobacco, and savory leather notes. On the palate it opens with a velvety, oily texture, warm alcohol and a complex interplay of spice—ginger, black pepper—and sweet‑savory elements. The midpalate is full and rounded, balanced by an underlying umami character and a long, resonant finish that leaves lingering caramel, spice and toasted grain. Producer notes: crafted using traditional solid‑state fermentation in earthen pits, locally sourced sorghum and pure regional water, followed by long ageing in pottery and careful blending to achieve balance and depth. Winemaking: repeated small‑batch blending and extended maturation deliver a polished, mature profile with pronounced body and lasting finish. Vineyard/field notes: raw materials are grown in Sichuan plains with clean water sources; the cellar’s pit mud and historic techniques are central to its signature aromatic profile. Serving: no decanting necessary—serve neat in small glasses at room temperature or slightly warmed. Ideal with rich, spicy or roasted Chinese dishes.
