A poised Grand Cru from the walled Clos de Vougeot, this 2021 offers a layered bouquet of ripe red fruit—cherry and raspberry—underpinned by darker plum notes, forest floor and a whisper of truffle. Secondary aromas of cedar, baking spice and warm earth unfold with time in the glass.
On the palate it is elegant but concentrated: a silky entry gives way to a structured mid-palate, bright acidity and well-defined yet polished tannins. The wine shows depth and minerality from old vines, and a persistent, savory finish that lingers.
Producer notes: Crafted by Chateau de La Tour from Vieilles Vignes parcels within the Clos, this cuvée reflects low yields and careful selection. Winemaking follows traditional Burgundian practice with gentle extraction, attentive élevage and maturation in fine French oak to preserve freshness and add subtle spice framing.
Vineyard notes: Sourced from old vines inside the historic Clos de Vougeot, soils are classic Côte de Nuits limestone-clay with good mineral backbone. The site and vine age contribute concentration, complexity and an ability to age gracefully. Best enjoyed after a short decant to allow aromatics and texture to open.
