Tasting note: This Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru opens with a refined bouquet of red cherry, wild berry and darker plum, layered with forest-floor earthiness, warm spice and cedar from substantial oak ageing. On the palate it delivers a silkier-than-expected texture, bright, energetic acidity and finely grained tannins that frame concentrated fruit. The oak (notably from an extended élevage) lends vanilla and toasted notes without overwhelming the core of terroir-driven flavor; the finish is long and savory. Producer notes: From Domaine Anne Gros, a family domaine renowned for classic Côte de Nuits expressions. Le Grand Maupertui is handled with meticulous care in both vineyard and cellar; drinking window suggests maturity from 2028 through the mid-2040s, rewarding patience.
