Tasting Note: Fresh red berries and ripe cherry open on the nose, layered with rose petal, a touch of baking spice and a subtle forest-floor, mineral undercurrent. The palate is mid-weight and elegantly structured — vibrant acidity lifts the fruit, fine-grained, silky tannins frame the middle and a persistent, polished finish carries graceful savoury notes.
Producer & Winemaking: From a small, terroir-focused domaine in Vosne-Romanée, Les Barreaux expresses mid-slope limestone-clay soils and careful, low-yield viticulture. Grapes are handled gently at harvest; vinification follows Burgundian tradition with controlled extraction and maturation in French oak (a portion in newer oak) to lend structure without overwhelming primary fruit. The result is precise, classically-styled wine with ageing potential.
Vineyard Notes: Les Barreaux sits on mid-slope exposures that favor ripeness balanced by cool nights. Soils of limestone and clay give lift and mineral tension, and conscientious canopy work plus yield control concentrate flavours while preserving freshness.
