Tasting note
Tasting Note: Deep ruby in the glass with an expressive bouquet of red fruits — ripe raspberries, juicy red cherry and a core of blackcurrant — lifted by floral perfume and subtle earthy undernotes. The palate is supremely balanced: silky yet rustic tannins, bright freshness and a sensuous vinosity that carries through a long, mineral-tinged finish. Producer Notes: From the enviable exposure of the En Orveaux premier cru, these wines combine rich perfumed aromas with an elegant structure. The domaine describes them as both silky and rustic, with notable freshness and mellowness. Winemaking Notes: Hand-harvested and hand-sorted in the winery. Fermented and matured in oak, with 30–40% new barrels used during ageing to add subtle spice and structure without overwhelming the fruit. Vineyard Notes: Small holdings within the appellation (1.08 ha at the domaine) on a shallow layer of fertile alluvial soil over limestone. Vines average 25–52 years old, contributing concentration and complexity. Drinking window suggests development from 2026 and carrying through to around 2037.

Domaine Mongeard-Mugneret is a family-owned domaine in Vosne-Romanée, run under the ownership of Jean Mongeard.
