Tasting Note: Ripe red cherry and dark raspberry open the bouquet, followed by forest-floor nuances of truffle and damp leaf, a layer of black tea and warm spice, and a thread of cedar from careful oak aging. The palate is medium‑full with a silky, fine-grained tannic frame, lively acidity and concentrated red-fruit core that gradually gives way to an earthy, mineral finish of notable length. Producer Notes: From the family-run Domaine Jacques Cacheux in Flagey‑Echezeaux, this Grand Cru is a terroir-first expression from steep, limestone‑rich slopes. The domaine works with small parcels and low yields to concentrate flavour and reflect site specificity. Winemaking Notes: Fermentation follows traditional Burgundian practice with attentive sorting and gentle extraction to preserve aromatic finesse. Maturation in French oak barrels (a balanced proportion of new oak) refines structure without masking the vineyard’s natural profile. Bottled after élevage to allow integration of wood and fruit.
