Tasting note: Fresh red-fruit perfume opens the glass—wild strawberry, red cherry and raspberry—woven with forest-floor, subtle truffle and fine spice. On the palate it presents silky, refined tannins, lively acidity and a mineral backbone that carries a long, elegant finish. Producer notes: From Domaine Mongeard‑Mugneret, a family domaine based in Flagey‑Echezeaux under the stewardship of Jean Mongeard. La Grande Complication is a top-tier parcel selection from Echezeaux, crafted in a classic, restrained Burgundian style that favours finesse and terroir expression. Winemaking notes: Fermented with careful temperature control and gentle extraction to preserve aromatics and structure. Maturation takes place in French oak barrels with a measured proportion of new wood, followed by extended élevage to harmonise oak and fruit before bottling. Vineyard notes: Vines are sourced from prime Echezeaux exposures within Flagey‑Echezeaux, on limestone-rich soils that lend mineral drive and freshness. Low yields and attentive viticulture encourage concentrated, precise fruit reflecting the climat’s complexity.
