Tasting note: a refined Grand Cru from a great vintage — lifted aromas of red cherry, wild raspberry and rose petal give way to deeper notes of forest floor, truffle and subtle toasted spice. The palate is lithe and layered: silky, fine-grained tannins, bright, energetic acidity and a saline, persistent finish that evolves in the glass.
Producer notes: made under the watchful eye of Lalou Bize‑Leroy, the estate applies meticulous selection and low-intervention principles to coax purity and terroir expression from this premier site.
Winemaking notes: fruit is harvested by hand into small baskets and brought in refrigerated trucks; rigorous manual sorting on stationary tables precedes fermentation in large wooden vats without de-stemming or crushing to preserve native yeasts. Techniques include pigeage and remontage with slow fermentation and extended maceration. Gravity racking, malo finished in the upper cellars and long maturation in cool underground caves before bottling.
