2026 Glendronach 18 Years Single Malt Whisky Year of Horse Limited Edition
Tasting note: Deep, sherried aromas of dried fruits, raisin and fig, layered with dark chocolate, warm toffee and baking spice. The palate is full and silky — rich caramel and vanilla from long oak maturation meet a savoury leather note and a hint of orange zest. Intense and concentrated, the finish is long, warming and resonant.
Producer notes: A special Year of the Horse limited edition from GlenDronach, bottled after 18 years' maturation. Crafted as an homage to traditional sherry-cask ageing, this release showcases the distillery’s signature approach to time and cask selection.
Winemaking/maturation notes: Matured predominantly in Spanish Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, the spirit gains dense dried-fruit sweetness, polished oak tannin and layered spice. Small-lot blending ensures balance between sherry influence and the distillery character.
Vineyard/field notes: Produced in the highlands around the historic Forgue distillery, the distillery’s surroundings — cool, maritime-influenced air and nearby barley fields — contribute to a clean, rounded malt profile. The long warehouse ageing brings concentrated flavours and a velvety mouthfeel.
