Tasting note: Deep ruby in the glass with an aromatic lift of dark berries, blackcurrant and plum, overlaid by cedar, tobacco and a hint of vanilla. On the palate it shows concentrated dark-fruit core, firm yet refined tannins and balanced acidity that carries savory oak spice and cocoa through a persistent finish. Producer notes: Part of the estate's selection programme, this 2023 bottling was produced in small lots with careful selection at harvest to focus on ripe fruit and structural balance. The aim is a wine that is approachable in youth but with enough backbone for short-term cellar development. Winemaking notes: Fermentation was managed to preserve primary fruit flavours while extracting firm structure; post-ferment maceration and moderate oak ageing (short-to-medium toast barrels) integrate spice and vanilla notes without overwhelming the fruit. Bottled after a period of maturation to allow harmonisation.
