A fine example from a single, walled parcel: Clos de la Boulotte Monopole from Domaine Nudant. The 2021 shows an elegant core of red cherry and wild raspberry layered with savoury undergrowth, subtle iron/mineral lift and a thread of warm baking spice. On the palate it feels balanced and poised — bright, energetic acidity frames silky, medium tannins and a medium-plus body that carries precise fruit and a whisper of toasted oak through a lingering, nuanced finish. Producer & winemaking notes: Domaine Nudant, a focused family domaine in Aloxe-Corton, tends its monopole site with careful, low-intervention practices. Grapes are hand-harvested, gently handled and fermented with native yeasts in traditional vats. Aging in French oak (with a proportion of younger barrels) provides structure and gentle spice without overwhelming the vineyard character. The result is classically Burgundian — terroir-driven, refined and food-friendly. Vineyard notes: Clos de la Boulotte sits on classic Côte de Beaune slopes with clay-limestone soils that lend mineral tension and firm structure.
